Default Change in play since HoH?

I read a recent article about how tourney play has gotten better since Harrington on Hold'Em was released. Anyone seeing this on-line? (If so, tell us where so we can avoid it!!).

It's the curse of having new books, etc. hit the market - you get this great information, but unfortunately so does everyone else.

Quote:
In a recent smaller tournament, a female poker player unknown to Harrington pulled off a masterful bluff to beat him out of a big pot.

"I thought she could not possibly be bluffing in that spot, and it turned out she was," Harrington said. "After it was over, she told me, 'I won that pot because I read your book.'

"What could I say? 'Oh, thanks a lot!' "

I haven't noticed a great increase in tourney player quality on-line. It's not too surprising, since I think the vast majority of players are more casual, and therefore would balk at the idea of spending $50 for Harrington's books, and then spending the time to actually read them. Lately I've been playing a lot of tournaments over at Full Tilt, and most of the play there is just horrible. I would imagine things are a little more intense over at Stars, where there is a lot of quality tourney play going on.

I play mostly Guaranteed tourneys on Bodog.
Just as a side note. Bodog has equivalent guarantees to Full tilt, but they have lower buy-in amount (for the same guarantee prize pool) and it always underfills... so more money in pot than there should be.
justkeep that in mind....

anyways, the games i play are 10~20 dollar buy ins with about 5k ~7k guaranteed.
from what i see, the play is quite terrible. i can't say i'm any better seeing as i only placed a fwe times. but sometimes i just wonder what the hell they are doing.

Harrington on Hold'em definitely improved alooot of people's game.
but considering that the Poker population is so huge, i doubt even 10% read his book. so in the end there is still a large significant amount of players who are going to suck.
(and in someways, even if you've read the book and improved, u won't do so well becaues you'll be fished out!)

on the other hand, i've seen lots of people in my poker socity in uni who's read the book.
clearly if you go to a place with some more serious players, they would have read it (unless the yare too good for it already!)
