Default Crazy Pineapple

It's the best thing about Ultimate Bet. And there are now Crazy Pineapple tournaments every Thursday morning at the Cherokee casino in Tulsa, OK. It may be the only casino in America with regularly scheduled Crazy Pineapple tournaments. If you're every driving cross country, you'll probably pass through Tulsa. The casino is on the very east side of town, has its own exit on the interstate; it's hard to miss.

I too love Crazy Pineapple!! It's a nice little distraction from Hold'Em, and a lot of fun.

It's a Hold'Em variant where you're dealt 3 cards before the flop. Once the flop hits, you have to discard one of your hole cards. It's usually played high-low split, 8 or better.

There is also regular Pineapple, where you have to discard before the flop.

As far as I know, UB is the only site that offers Pineapple. They have play chip Crazy Pineapple tables - give it a shot some time! It's a lot of fun.

Now, even though my game is no limit holdem and that is where my expertise lies, and I'd like to think I'm a pretty good omaha player. Crazy pineapple is by far my favorite poker game to play. One attracts me to this game more than anything is that almost every hand puts you to a decision, one that you have to think over carefully before you discrad one of your cards, and sometimes its that really hard decision of whether keeping top pair or going for that straight or flush draw. I'm a very indecisive person usually, and this game helps me to become more decisive, evaluating my options more often. That's one of the reasons why it's do great.

I`ve never played crazy pineapple but I have played regular pineapple although the people I played with called it Joe Brown. This game can drive you nuts with the decision you have to make before the flop. It just makes me angry when you see the flop and realize you threw the wrong card. It seems to happen to me all the time, but I really enjoy the game as a whole.

could someone lpease explain this game to me? It looks absolutely ludicrous. Call me old fashioned, but I just really dont know why if its so great, it isnt more popular.

It could be, at least in part, that crazy pineapple isn't as popular as straightforward holdem because it's more complex. Similar to Omaha, which tends to thrust more decisions on you that have more aspects to take into consideration.

Of course, that's not all; we can also talk about other reasons such as the amount of TV exposure holdem gets.
