Default Trip to the casino

For those of you who make trips to the casinos,,,, how much are you rolling down there with?

I am making my first trip to Tunica soon, and want to know how much to take.

I plan on playing one big tournament, probably 100 + 30 freezeout, but I am not sure how much on top of that to take to play at the tables. I plan on keeping it low, and staying at the 2/4 tables when I am not playing the tourny.

Just curious as to how much I should plan on taking.

I'm not sure how much you should take to Tunica, but I can tell you this. My wife and I went to Cripple Creek for our anniversary. We wanted to play in the Midnight Rose Poker Room, and the buy-in for their Sunday tournament was only $50 each. However, when we got there, we found out that players who had been playing in ring games had preferential seating, and that only 66 players were allowed in the tournament.

According to the room boss, the place usually had enough people playing ring games to fill the tournament, and we didn't feel like we had enough money to sit in a ring game for three hours before paying the entry fee to the tournament, so we left. I still want to play there, but next time, I will take at least $150 that I'm willing to spend in ring games in addition to the tournament entry fee.

Sounds like a plan. We have 25 and 50 $ tourneys here and usually on Fri. nite 75-90 playuers show up. Ring games before and after the tourney; if I'm going to play I' take $150. You sound like a guy who only wants to take what he can afford to loose. Good Advise

That is exactly right. I am just curious as to how much I need to save up in order to have a good time. Dont want to take too little, and dont want to take too much.

Thanks for the input...

Default my bankroll

What I always do is I bring between 150 and 200 to play 1-2 no limit and if I lose it all I leave and then play blackjack or if I double up I usually leave unless I feel the table is giving me the chance to stay and make more money, because normally when I double up I get really loose and I raise and call with hands I shouldn't because I seem to want to go for the kill and I have been trying to teach myself to stay just as tight and to wait and pick my spots. This week has been pretty decent for me even though last night I lost 200 and last sunday I lost 200 with my floped flush(read about it in the forum here) even being down that 400 between blackjack and poker I'm still up 600 for the week so I'm doing pretty good seeing that this week has been the most I have played poker at a casino in my life

Where are you going in Tunica (casinos)? I'm there about once a month. I take between 250-500 most of the time. The most i took was 2000. I left broke that weekend. Played higher stakes than usual for me and got behind and tried to make it up. I just played stupid. Maybe i'll see you there. We can eat together or something i got like a zillion comp points for food and rooms and such. LOL
