Spade Joeseph Hachem wins 1st Prize - 2005 World Series of Poker Main Event

"We had seven players last year, and this year we had thirteen. I look to have better than twenty next year. It's even liable to get up to be fifty. Might get up to be more than that; it will eventually."

Pretty impressive job tho for Raymer and Ivy to get that deep into the tourney again.

The most surprising thing to me is that Raymer did it again, Ivey is a world class player, and in my opinion the best in the world. I thought Raymer was a one hit wonder who was just running very lucky in all the coin flip situations that he got into, apparently I was wrong and I can't wait for ESPN to televise this year's event. I think they do a very good job with it.

I honestly think that Raymer is one of the better tournament players around. His win in 2004 was less a Moneymaker story (the one-hit wonder) and more a case of a regional pro unknown to most of the poker world finally earning respect. Raymer has been playing in bigger games at Foxwoods for some time, and in fact has earned investors a significant profit over several contracts. He's a deep thinker, and places a premium on making the best decision at any given point. Not many players give the kind of dedication to poker that Raymer does.

Yeah, i root for Ivey to win every year and yeah i think Moneymaker was a fluke coz if he didnt get lucky against Ivey, there was no way he wouldve won that.

Raymer tho surprised me and impressed me.

Default Whoa!

I think its awsome that more people are playing in the series. That just means the money is getting bigger. who knows how big it could get. I just hope i'm there to win it.
