Default Hockey Play-offs

The NHL season is now over and the playoffs are about to begin. While things change in any sport when the playoffs hit, I belive hockey sees a significant jump in excitement.

I can't wait to watch those games that go into a first/second/third overtime. I still remember a game 6 years ago where Colorado won a 4OT game. I didn't see the winning goal. I stayed and watched the whole thing while my newborn and wife slept. Problem as the 4th OT began, I HAD to go to the bathroom.

While taking care of business, the game ended.

Who do you hope to win the Cup this year?

Unfortunately for me, the Leafs just missed out on the playoffs this year. I agree that playoff hockey is on an entirely new and better level. I too love the games that go 3 and 4 overtimes.

I don't really have a team that I am cheering for, but I would really like to see Edmonton upset Detroit. I'm just going to enjoy watching the playoffs as a whole. Glad to see playoff hockey back

I will be rooting for the Oilers. I have always been a fan when they had that run of cup victories in the 80s. What an absolutely amazing team they put together back then.

So close Oilers. Congrats Hurricanes. It was a great Stanley Cup and I can't wait for the play-offs next year. (I don't watch the regular season). The play-off action was great this year and I hope to see the same thing, with maybe the Canucks making the play-offs next year.

It was a nice run they had, to be so close must have killed them. But losing their goalie really killed them, even though Markannen did a great job in response.
