When I played poker in Stockton, there was this really loose poker room. People would seriously call down 6-2 offsuit just to see if they could bluff people out of the pot. This was limit poker. I found that yes, playing choice hands was a good idea. But then you become predictable. I guess sometimes you need to play the slightly mediocre hands, see the flop every once in awhile. If you don't see what you like you can always fold right at the flop, but if you happen to have a pair or better, chances are you're going to win it. Especially if it's a high pair. In fact more often than not the hand that wins most of the pots in loose games is just a pair. I hope this helps.
